Enniskillen Junior Champions

A number of Enniskillen Lawn Tennis Club junior players have captured their first titles of the summer tournament season at the West of Ireland Open Junior Championships held in Sligo. At finals day on Saturday, Adam Donaldson from Enniskillen won the under 18 boys singles title, even though he plays in the under 16 years age group, defeating fellow club player, John Slowey. Both boys together went on to win the under 18 doubles title, defeating Sligo opponents, Sean Caheny and Stephen Butler. Adam's younger brother, Connor Donaldson, repeated the feat of his brother in the Under 14 age group, winning the singles title against local opponent, Fiachra Grennan and then teaming up with Fiachra to win the under 14 doubles title against Sligo boys, Brian Tobin and Conor Caheny. A large number of players from Enniskillen featured in the prizes. Among them were Steven Miller and Scott Gilbride, playing their first tournament outside Enniskillen. Results featuring Enniskillen players were as follows;

  • Under 18 boys singles winner - Adam Donaldson, Enniskillen; runner-up - John Slowey, Enniskillen.
  • Under 18 boys doubles winners - Adam Donaldson and John Slowey, Enniskillen.
  • Under 14 boys singles winner - Connor Donaldson, Enniskillen
  • Under 14 boys doubles winners - Connor Donaldson, Enniskillen and Fiachra Grennan, Sligo
  • Under 16 mixed doubles runners-up - Riona Walsh, Sligo and Glen Mowat, Enniskillen
  • Under 16 mixed doubles plate runners up - Finn Corrigan and Alexandrea Carroll, Enniskillen
  • Under 14 girls doubles; runners-up - Aoife Hackett, Sligo and Alexandrea Carroll, Enniskillen
  • Under 14 boys doubles plate; runners-up - Scott Gilbride and Steven Miller, Enniskillen
  • Under 12 boys doubles; runners-up - James Carroll and Oisin Corrigan
