Enniskillen junior player, Adam Donaldson is the No.1 junior player in Ulster at Under 18 level. He achieved the top ranking spot at the Ulster Provincial Matchplays on Sunday, 6th April.
Ten boys representative of all five regions competed for ranking positions and having topped his group of five in the preliminary rounds, Adam went on to win his fifth and final match against his namesake, Karl Donaldson. It’s been a steady improvement for Adam. He was runner-up in the Christmas matchplays. During the Ulster matchplays played in strong and cold winds, Adam’s serve was a major weapon and held his nerve during several championship tie-breaks to go undefeated in all his five matches.
Four younger members of Enniskillen Lawn Tennis Club have played in their first inter-provincial matches. Robert Connor, Abigail Greene and Emily Donaldson were selected for the Ulster team which played Connaught in the under 14 inter-pro at Sligo Tennis Club on Saturday,5th April. The players enjoyed the occasion, receiving an Ulster top to mark the occasion. Meanwhile at under 12 level, Alison Glass was selected to play for Ulster in a similar fixture against Connaught at Omagh Lawn Tennis Club.
