Four nominees for Fermanagh Sports Awards

Enniskillen Lawn Tennis Club has the best representation for many years in the prestigious 2008 Fermanagh Sports Awards organised by Fermanagh Sports Advisory Committee of Fermanagh District Council and sponsored by the Impartial Reporter. Four members of the Club have been nominated in 4 categories.

In the juvenile personality section for those 16 years and under, Susannah Hughes-Jordan has been nominated as Ulster u.18 girls champion.

In the junior personality section for those 16-18 years, Adam Donaldson is nominated for his success as u.18 matchplay champion, his no.1 ranking in Ulster, his selection for the Ulster u.18 inter-provincial team, for runner-up in the Junior Masters and reaching the quarter-finals of the Irish National Indoor Championships.

For Coach of the Year Award, the Enniskillen Club coach, Matthew McGann is a nominee, for coaching two tennis stars to Ulster titles, and for coaching two young players to National Matchplay standard.

The fourth player to be nominated is young Sarah Cousins, who is nominated for a Merit Award for her success at u.10 level.

The presentation of the awards took place on Friday, 6th March at a dinner in the Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen. Sarah received her merit award and was the youngest sportsperson to receive an award this year. They were all presented with various items to recognise their hard work and acheivements.
