The annual West of Ulster Junior Tennis Open gets under way from 2nd- 7th July and Tesco is sponsoring the event for the third year in succession. This prestigious junior tournament forms part of the Ulster Tennis Points Tour. This means that there are points on offer to all players which can enhance a player’s Ulster ranking. The number of points on offer is dependent on the quality of the field and last year’s competition proved the most competitive yet. Entries are currently coming in from many clubs including Belfast, Warrenpoint, Bangor and Letterkenny.
A strong local contingent will include Matthew Duffy, Headon Hughes Jordan, Jared Monaghan and Sarah and Hannah Cousins. Our nearest club,Irvinestown as well as Omagh and Sligo are also expected to have strong representation. Further details and access to the online entry system are available on the club website at – www.tenniskillen.com
Please ensure you get your entry in by the closing date – Sunday evening 24th June.
A Tennis Tens event will also be held at Enniskillen Tennis Club for the Under 8s, 9s and 10s during tournament week on the Tuesday morning, 3rd July. This will be a team event and children taking part in any of these events should be capable of holding a rally. Further details can be obtained on the club website.
