Interest in junior tennis continues to rise

This summer certainly helped to reaffirm the healthy status of junior tennis at Enniskillen Tennis Club. As well as some outstanding performances from our juniors in tennis tournaments throughout the province, we witnessed an increase in children trying out the sport for the first time.

Matthew McGann’s ever popular summer tennis camp drew record numbers of children from the local area. Word of mouth proved the most effective means of promoting the camp which continued through July and August. The biggest increase was in the 5 year olds who were put through their paces by Louise McGann and her enthusiastic assistants comprising of older and more experienced juniors. The children were taught basic tennis skills using a range of games played in a fun environment.

The second session for 12-16 year olds also showed significant increases on last year. The atmosphere at the club was buzzing throughout the summer and the feedback has been hugely positive.
