Round one of this popular junior competition has now been completed. After five weeks, almost every match has been played reflecting the high levels of interest and enthusiasm amongst the participants. Several matches went right down to the wire and involved a tiebreak at 8-8. Those who needed a tiebreak to separate them included Ronan McKeever v Alison Glass, Graham Hobson v Stuart Rainey, Orla McConville v Sean Martin, Laura Beirne v Sean Martin, Dylan Funston v Tom Hughes Jordan, Eimear Smyth v Luke Dillon, Oliver Guette v Luke Dillon, Danielle McKinney v Sasha Funston and Megan Elliott v Amy Griffin. The standard of tennis has been particularly high and this competition has provided many of these juniors with their first taste of competition. From a club perspective, the most important aspect is that they enjoy the experience.
