Thinking about joining our great club? Please take a read through this page, explore the website and our facebook page. Be sure to contact us via the methods below or drop us a message on the facebook page if you have any questions!!
If you have just joined the club, please be sure to familiarise yourself with the club guidelines outlined below.
Introduction
We are an active club with a strong junior and adult membership with ages ranging from 4 years to 80 years. We recognise that while many thrive on competition, there are many of us who are best described as recreational players. Interaction with others and making new friends is as important to us as the silverware others may bring home!
Club Facilities
We have four artificial grass court surfaces, all with floodlights. We have a fifth court with a rubber surface and a practice wall. Junior members have access to the courts during school term-time, but can only use the practice wall and court 5 when school is closed from 4.30pm. Further details on court availability is given in this welcome pack.
Club rules and constitution
A copy of the Club Rules and Constitution is available on this section of our website.
Adult Club Night
If you don’t know too many members, Club Night is a good starting point. Open to all adult members, this takes place every Tuesday evening from 8.00pm to 11.00pm with games arranged every 20 minutes involving all present. You may come and go as you please. Tea and coffee is served up at 10pm. This is a great way for new members to get to know other players.
Non members who are considering joining the club are also welcome to participate in 4 weekly club nights to help determine if the club and sport is for them
Adult activities
The committee aims to keep members informed of upcoming events and developments within the club. Events are always publicised at the clubhouse so please keep an eye on the notices. Emails are now an essential part of our communication so please make sure your details are filled in correctly on your membership form.
Junior activities and information
There is information here on our Friday junior club nights, coaching programmes and fees, club calendar of events and child protection policies.
Junior website main page can be found by clicking here.
Membership
Only members may use the courts, represent the club in competition, or participate in organised play with the exception of prospective members attending Club Night. Applications are available from the clubhouse or can be downloaded from the website here.
Junior membership (for ages 8- 17 on 31 March 2017) extends from 1 April – 31 March. Membership fees for a junior costs a total of £50 for the year (less than £1 per week). This includes a £7 affiliation fee to Tennis Ireland. If a parent is joining for the first time or is returning after an absence of more than 5 years, a special one-off annual membership of £100 applies. When a parent joins, any juniors in that family are free, although the affiliation fee of £7 for each child must be paid. Therefore, if you have more than one junior playing, you may consider it worth joining yourself! Children aged seven and under are free in all cases, but their names must still be included on the completed membership form and child protection forms.
Clubhouse Key Fobs
Key fobs give access to the clubhouse. Subject to a deposit, key fobs can be made available to adults and may also be made available to our older junior members at the discretion of the committee. Fobs can be obtained from the membership secretary Matt Dillon (07866365981).
