After some ten weeks of singles competition, the junior round robin league sponsored by Enniskillen solicitors John Quinn & Co came to an end in May. Only one player managed to remain undefeated during the competition and that was Jared Monaghan who won the trophy for top boy. Jared has been sailing high this past 12 months with some excellent wins in Belfast and further afield and this will have tuned him up nicely for this summer’s competitions. Runner up boy was Friday club night regular Jack Balfour, who has progressed extremely well in recent months and put in some fine performances under pressure. Only just missing out were the luckless Ronan McKeever and the 2012 Round Robin winner Oliver Guette. Both boys are continuing to show real improvement as they progress through the junior ranks. Top girl was Ciara Griffin who held off stern opposition from Anna Guette and Sarah Cousins. Ciara and Anna are both in club squads taken by club coach Matthew McGann and both girls will be delighted with these encouraging results. Sarah was unfortunately injured in her final match, but undoubtedly there will be plenty of opportunities to add to the trophy cabinet during this summer’s tournaments.
