On Monday night in the first match, the 3D Designers and the Storage Hunters shared 48 points apiece. In the mixed doubles Jerome Nicolle/Brenda Davis lost to Donal Burns/Louise McGann 5-7; Marius Blake/Martina Boyd v Ollie McShea/Josie Boyle ended 7-5; Reggie Ferguson/Liz McGuinness v Cormac Jordan/Heather Williams 4-8; Luke Todd/Yvonne v Mark Cousins/Bennie Sheridan ended 6-6. In mens doubles Jermome Nicolle/Marius Blake went down 3-9 to Donal Burns/Ollie McShea; Reggie Ferguson/Luke Todd 7-5 Cormac Jordan/Mark Cousins. In Ladies doubles Brenda Davis/Martina Boyd v Louise McGann/Josie Boyle ended7-5 and Liz McGuinness/Yvonne Masterson had a solid 9-3 win over Heather Williams/Bennie Sheridan.
The second match of the evening saw Colour Aces take the majority of points overall when they defeated Sliding Doors 51-45. It was 24 a piece after the mixed doubles, but it was the match that saw Dominic Burns/Paul Lendrum defeat Jemmy Renfrew/Martin Sharkey 11-1 that really helped the Colour Aces to the win. The other mens doubles saw Paul Carron. Euan Gebler lose 4-8 to Seamus O’Connell/Claude Bersot. In the ladies doubles Sonya Hateboes/Lisa Greaves v Jenny Humpries/Geraldine Millar ended 5-7 and Corrie Cadden/Catherine Sloan v Mary Griffin/Kate McManus ended 7-5.
On Wednesday the first match of the night saw a 58-38 win for Attic Convertors over Showroom Servers as the latter failed to field a full team and Mixed 4s and Mens 3&4’s ended in a 12-o walkover for the Attic Convertors. The other matches saw Davy Thompson/Maxine Leary v Innes Redmond/Martina Boyd end 5-7, JR/Lisa Greaves v Hugh Maguire/Jennifer Kelly end 5-7 and Niall McGandy/Ann White v Packie Donnelly/Sheila Colville end 6-6. Ann White picked up an injury which meant that she couldn’t play in the Ladies doubles. In the mens doubles, Davy Thompson/JR v Innes Redmond/Hugh Maguire ended 7-5. Ladies doubles maxine Leary/Lisa Greaves v Andrea Crawford/Jennifer Kelly ended 5-7.
In the second match on Wednesday the Space Invaders took on Smart Interiors. After the mixed doubles, the Space Invaders seemed to be in a commanding position with a score of 28-20 but the Smart Interiors won 3 of the 4 remaining matches leaving the scores 48 each. John Griffin/Martin Hamblin had a 9-3 win over Clive Funston/Brendan Duffy; Cyril Boyd/Johnny Guette lost 4- to Brian Donaldson/Nick Meeke; Liz Murphy/Ruth Armstrong lost 2-10 to Janet Love/Enid Redmond and Ruth Elliott/hazel Dineen lost a closely fought contect 5-7 to Anne Mooney/Roisin O’Connell.
